TECHART Refines Porsche Cayenne Diesel

TECHART launches performance and styling upgrades for Porsche Cayenne Diesel

combining low CO 2 and low running costs with style and high performance, for new and existing vehicles

A range of tuning and styling options for the Cayenne Diesel has been introduced by TECHART, the German Porsche tuning company renowned for creating some of the world's finest bespoke vehicles. Upgrades covering everything from sports-orientated engine and chassis conversions to luxury interiors and aerodynamic styling are available in the UK from Porsche specialist Tech9 Motorsport.

“With the top three podium positions at Le Mans won by diesel powered racecars this year, it is proven beyond any doubt that this is a superb fuel for very high performance motoring,” says Phil Hindley, managing director of Tech9 Motorsport. “Add in their low CO 2 output, which translates to low benefit-in-kind taxation, their excellent fuel economy and high residual values, and we can see why there is so much excitement about this car.”

TECHART's upgrade range has been developed to provide subtle enhancements to power, handling and styling, complemented by a range of interior trim options that can take the vehicle from comfortable to opulent. Every component is designed and manufactured to the same high standards as the original equipment parts and integration with the vehicle is rigorously engineered to ensure that safety and durability remain at the very high levels originally specified by Porsche. Specially developed for the Cayenne Diesel, Aerokit 1 includes a new front panel with a deeper front spoiler, elegantly integrated driving and fog lamps and additional cooling vents to help keep temperatures under control during consistently hard driving. Deeper sills help manage under body airflow and at the rear a new apron with integrated diffuser completes the underbody aerodynamics. Airflow behind the vehicle is managed by a low drag roof spoiler. All exterior styling components are manufactured from polyurethane to ensure long term durability and to provide a smooth, high quality appearance. For cars fitted with air suspension, Aerokit 1 also includes a unique TECHART suspension control module that lowers the vehicle, reducing roll and further improving aerodynamics. When the vehicle is stationary, the control system lowers the vehicle a little more to improve access and to further improve the low, aerodynamic look.

So what do you guys think? Does it worth the modifications? I think so!

The New 2009 Peugeot 407

A new 2009 Peugeot 407 with revised specification that goes on sale in September introduces a number of exterior and interior enhancements, a new RT5 satellite navigation system, a new ‘SR' model to the range and a new HDi 140 diesel engine producing 150 g/km of (CO 2 ).

Since launch, the 407 range, which includes Saloon, SW and Coupé body styles, has been recognised in its segment for its stylish design, advanced technology features and high levels of road holding. All models are elegant, distinctive and dynamic, in a segment based around traditional yet conventional saloon and estates, designed with style and practicality in mind. One of the attractions of the 407 is its feline appearance, which initiated the latest ‘house style' of Peugeot cars that has inspired the appearance of ranges that followed.

New grille treatment and body-coloured rubbing strips
Characterised by a more distinctive design at the front, the new air intake fits perfectly both in terms of technical performance and its bold design. The rear bumper now incorporates a diffuser style number-plate surround.

The interior, where the driver environment is so important, has been enhanced. SE and GT models now feature the new ‘piano black' finish which is applied to the door handle and air vent surrounds and to the centre console.

The dynamic characteristics of 407, including exceptional road holding, are the result of a number of technical solutions and Peugeot's expertise in fine tuning of the suspension that benefits both ride and handling. In anticipation of the changing expectations of its customers, Peugeot has strengthened the appeal of the 407's engaging dynamic performance even further.

Subtle visual improvements update a design that is just as dynamic and bold as before but now offers more in terms of elegance, robustness and high quality, both externally and internally. New enhanced comfort equipment increases the appeal of the different versions by offering even greater well-being to its occupants, in particular on-board temperature control and new telematics systems.

New equipment like front parking assistance enhances the car's world-wide reputation for ease of driving and dynamic performance. It is available with a choice of four- and six-cylinder engines featuring cutting edge technology, particularly on the HDi Diesel versions, the most popular engine in the 407.

These include an updated 2.0-litre HDi 140 engine with a 6-speed manual gearbox which develops a power of 140 bhp - an increase of 4 bhp over the HDi 136. It also benefits from low fuel consumption of 49.5 mpg and CO 2 emissions reduced to 150 g/km. This engine, which complies with anticipated future Euro 5 emission standards, testifies Peugeot's ongoing commitment to achieve the best possible environmental performance.

For example, an additive-enhanced diesel particulate filter system (FAP) is standard on all HDi Diesel powered 407s, following the introduction of the 1.6-litre HDi 110FAP engine. That is particularly well suited as a fleet vehicle due to its low fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions (only 140 g/km for the Saloon). All Peugeot HDi engines, back to 1998, can operate on B30 (Biodiesel at a 30% mixture). A new 2.0-litre ‘Bioflex' engine operating on E85 fuel will also be available from November, maximising the environmental benefit.

For me, being a European I like it. But I don't see future for Peugeot to be selled on the market in America or Asia. Peugeot is a European made. Are you on the same mind? I think the new shape and engine specifications are working quite well for it...

What do you think???

Vauxhall Insignia VXR

VAUXHALL INSIGNIA VXR HITS MARKET AFTER 10,000KM SIGN OFF AT ‘RING
  • Extensive durability sign-off at Germany 's notorious Nurbürgring
  • Turbocharged V6 engine with race-bred design features
  • Unique-to-range chassis features for optimised grip and traction
  • Priced from £30,995.00

Luton – Packing 325 horsepower, a sophisticated four-wheel-drive chassis and a sub-six second 0-60 time, Vauxhall's new Insignia VXR is set to take the mid-size performance saloon market by storm when it appears in UK showrooms this September, priced from £30,995.00.

Based on the successful 2009 European Car of the Year, and available in hatch, saloon and Sports Tourer body styles, the high-performance Insignia will be Vauxhall's first VXR model to adopt 4X4 technology, using a bespoke chassis developed through an extensive test programme at the gruelling Nürburgring circuit in Germany .

Highlights are a ‘HiPerStrut' front suspension system, Adaptive 4X4 with electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) and a 10 millimetre reduction in ride height over the Insignia SRi.

The HiPerStrut system is unique to the VXR and serves two primary functions: firstly, to reduce torque-steer, but also to maintain negative camber during cornering, thereby improving ultimate grip levels in wet or dry conditions.

Complementing these features are standard 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inch lightweight forged alloys are a cost option) with bespoke tyres, revised bushing and damper settings on both axles, and Brembo brakes with colour-keyed callipers and vented/cross-drilled discs.

‘The Insignia VXR is not just about absolute power, but a combination of usable performance and chassis sophistication which is the match of premium rivals, such as Audi's new S4,' said Andy Gilson, Vauxhall's Marketing Director. ‘In essence, it's an ultra-fast performance saloon that will appeal to buyers who appreciate subtle yet distinctive styling, but who need to know that there's real substance below the car's metal.'

And substance the VXR has a-plenty. At the heart of the Insignia VXR is Vauxhall's advanced 2.8-litre V6 Turbo ECOTEC engine, with its micro-alloy forged steel crank, classic 60-degree cylinder angle and die-cast alloy oil sump – all features found in many a race engine. Producing 325PS, the engine uses a single, twin-scroll turbocharger and variable valve control for quick throttle response, and accelerates from 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds, achieving an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

With a design inspired by the Vauxhall/Opel GTC concept car, many of the Insignia VXR's styling cues will be familiar to those who saw this groundbreaking concept at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. A deeper bumper, incorporating bold, twin mesh grilles either side of the main grille, dominates the front of the car, and at the rear, all models gain a rear spoiler, while all VXRs have a bespoke bumper moulding incorporating dual matt chrome exhausts.

This sporting theme continues in the Insignia VXR's cabin. Recaro front seats, a new VXR steering wheel, VXR gearknob and unique mouldings are standard on all cars, along with different instrument graphics, VXR sill plates and a black headlining.

Combining all the technical highlights of the VXR hatch and saloon with best in class-matching luggage capacity (rear seats up), the VXR Sports Tourer version is not only the fastest estate car Vauxhall has ever produced, but also the first to incorporate Adaptive 4X4 and an electronic limited slip differential.

A 540-litre load space behind its 60:40 split rear seats increases to 1530-litres with the seats down. And accessing this area has never been easier, thanks to the VXR Sports Tourer's standard electronic tailgate, which can be operated off the driver's key fob, or via a rotary knob on the inside of the driver's door.

All VXRs are available with a colour palette comprising Arden Blue, Power Red, Carbon Flash Black, Silver Lake , Olympic White and Technical Grey.

Sitting at the top of the Insignia range, the new models will be an important addition to Vauxhall's performance-bred VXR family, which already includes the Corsa VXR, Astra VXR and 562 horsepower VXR8 Bathurst S.

Well, that's a car that catches your eye... Maybe it is not one of the famous brands, but it sure looks to me that it has future. Vauxhall offers a great opportunity for a good price.

Still the brand is not that famous, and that is leading to not making big sales. The only way I can see that, Vauxhall brand has is that they continue with their dedication and use it to increase their sales and wait to get famous!

I can only say: Good Luck Guys!!!

Aston Martin DBS Volante

Aston Martin DBS Volante makes its debut at the 2009 Geneva Auto Salon. Completing the Aston Martin DBS line-up, the new Volante will afford customers the combination of the DBS's already-established benchmark sports car characteristics with all the thrills of open-air motoring.

Broadening the DBS's character, the Aston Martin DBS Volante will appeal to drivers who wish to combine the excitement of driving a finely-tuned sports car with the invigorating feeling of being open to the elements. This juxtaposition of ultimate performance and openness stirs the senses on any drive whether an exhilarating jaunt on favoured roads or cruising on lengthy journeys. 'Volante', meaning 'moving with light rapidity', perfectly defines the performance potential and the dynamic characteristics of the Aston Martin DBS Volante.

Featuring a motorised retractable fabric roof, the DBS's beautiful profile is preserved whether up or down. When the roof is closed, it provides a warm comfortable ambience and when open, it neatly disappears behind the new tonneau cover at the touch of a button.

Aston Martin's Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez said: "The Aston Martin DBS Volante delivers the utmost relaxed driving experience with the hood up or down. It combines engineering excellence with design perfection.

"The Aston Martin DBS Volante offers a subtle mix of power and performance. Adding to this, the fine craftsmanship - it is an unparalleled ownership and driving experience."

Conceived as a Volante from the outset, Aston Martin engineers opted for a fabric hood to closely follow the silhouette of the DBS coupe and due to its lightweight properties, minimise overall weight gain. Fully retractable in only 14 seconds and at up to speeds of 30 mph (48 km/h), the roof will automatically stow under the newly sculpted tonneau, maintaining the Aston Martin DBS Volante's perfect form - hood up or down.

Power is provided by Aston Martin's hand-built all alloy 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS), and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque with a top speed of 191 mph (307 km/h) and 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 4.3 seconds. The nature of the V12, and in particular the torque available at all engine speeds, serves to provide effortless driving in all situations.

Aston Martin's 16th convertible in 95 years, the Aston Martin DBS Volante draws on the marque's extensive experience in designing iconic 'Volantes' and is a 2+2 featuring two occasional rear seats, ideal for young people or extra luggage. In standard specification, the DBS has a rear-mounted six-speed manual gearbox, while an automatic six-speed 'Touchtronic' option is also available. As with the coupe, the Volante is offered with carbon ceramic brakes as standard providing exceptional stopping power. Benefitting from materials derived from the motorsport and aerospace industries, the bonnet, front wings and boot lid are made from carbon fibre all helping to reduce weight.

The Aston Martin DBS Volante also comes with Bang & Olufsen's renowned 'BeoSound DBS' in-car entertainment system, featuring 13 speakers as standard equipment. The BeoSound DBS has been expertly tuned by Bang & Olufsen's Tonmeisters and Aston Martin's acoustic engineers specifically for the Volante resulting in a system that senses when the roof has been retracted and adjusts the sound stage to compensate for extra wind noise, providing an unrivalled automotive audio experience.

The need for high-performance stability, handling ability and low kerb weight defined the DBS's form and construction. The Aston Martin DBS Volante is powered by the same 6.0-litre V12 engine at the heart of the DBS which was launched in 2007. Producing 510 bhp (517 PS / 380 kW), peak power is delivered at 6500 rpm and the 570 NM (420 lb ft) of torque is delivered at 5750 rpm. Tractable at any time, the DBS possesses a 'flat' torque curve providing 85% of the torque from 1500 rpm.

The 3.71:1 (manual) and 3.46:1 (Touchtronic) final drive ratio assures that all the Aston Martin DBS Violante's power is use able, while also enhancing in-gear acceleration.

That's a car!!! Right there!!! Every car enthusiast is dreaming for one. The Aston Martin series are well-known and expensive. Seeing a person driving one of those, clearly indicates that he well acquainted with the necessities to have one.

For me that's is a car which belongs in my garage, and hopefully I hope I will get it someday! Eh? :)

2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid

For 2010, the long list of standard safety features is enhanced with the addition of front seat-mounted side air bags on all models.

I don't know about you guys, but i am really sceptic about hybrids. For me if its not a gasoline or diesel engine it is not a car. It is true that the world goes forward and we need new sources needed so engines can operate.

As we well know the Earth "black liquid gold" is not that much as before. That made many scientist to search for different ways - one of which is the hybrid. Even thought everything I am still skeptic towards it. I would like to know you thoughts! Feel free to comment!!!
Thank you guys.

2010 Jaguar XJ

The new Jaguar XJ is the epitome of fluid, contemporary automotive style. The elongated teardrop shape of the side windows establishes the car's silhouette and lies at the heart of its flowing design. And the new Jaguar XJ doesn't just look streamlined: it shares a drag coefficient of 0.29 with the Jaguar XF saloon, making them the most aerodynamic Jaguars ever.

The new Jaguar XJ offers the choice of four powerful and refined engines, which use the latest powertrain technology to deliver an outstanding combination of performance and class-leading efficiency. The supremely powerful supercharged 510PS 5.0-litre AJ-V8 Gen III will head the line-up, with a 0-60mph time of 4.7 secs (0-100kph in 4.9 secs).

With a stiff, lightweight body structure, a new generation of ultra-efficient, high-performance powertrains and the latest chassis technologies, the all-new Jaguar XJ is an outstanding premium sports saloon that delivers an exhilarating driving experience.

The primary objective while developing the new Jaguar XJ was to provide a combination of focused and responsive sporting dynamics, allied to the suppleness and refinement of a luxury vehicle. The all-new Jaguar XJ is very much a driver's car and surprisingly agile for its size, but without any compromise to comfort.

At more relaxed cruising speeds the new Jaguar XJ is blissfully silent. A full secondary bulkhead, laminated glass in all the main windows, streamlined aerodynamics and an optimised body structure help to reduce noise levels to an absolute minimum. When driven in a more spirited fashion, however, carefully tuned air intake systems deliver an inspiring engine soundtrack.

Giving even greater level of personal control, the Jaguar XJ driver can tailor the driving experience to suit their mood or conditions. JaguarDrive ControlTM offers two different modes: Dynamic mode, for a more sporting and responsive character, and Winter mode, for greater confidence in low-grip conditions. Each mode changes the characteristics of engine mapping, transmission shifts, Adaptive Dynamics and Active Differential Control systems and DSC interventions.

Jaguar.. Who doesn't know that car make? I remember when I was young, how this was my favorite make, mainly because it was Jaguar! Now, after 10 years is still one car which I dearly want, but not as before. Now I know more makes, more cars, more information about them.

For me it seems that Jaguar is really expensive for what it offers. I will leave it to you to decide! I still really like it and it has special place in my heart, but that car is not exactly for me. What do you think guys? Who wants a Jaguar?

The latest incarnation of the Vantage family has been designed to provide a unique character, appealing to different driver tastes and complementing the other models in the current Aston Martin line-up.

The original V12 Vantage concept was unveiled to guests at the opening of the Aston Martin Design Studio in December 2007. Continuing the marque's impressive record of bringing concepts through to production, Aston Martin engineers have brought the V12 Vantage to market in an incredible 12 months.

Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez said: “This is the ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range, combining our most agile model with our most powerful engine. It represents the definitive driving package; providing spectacular performance to ensure a dynamically thrilling and everyday useable driving experience.

“The V12 Vantage has a unique character, one unlike our other cars. This will appeal to different people with different tastes, allowing more people to enjoy the Aston Martin experience.

“This also illustrates one of Aston Martin's key strengths – the ability to act quickly and turn concepts and ideas into reality.”

Designed for the focused driver, every component of the V12 Vantage has been honed with pure driving enjoyment in mind. Benefitting from race-developed materials and components, and featuring lightweight carbon fibre; performance and agility have been tuned to perfection.

Visually enticing, the V12 Vantage expresses its performance potential through its purposeful stance created by enhanced aerodynamic and cooling aids optically widening the car, while retaining traditional understated Aston Martin design. Equally inviting, the cosseting interior permits the driver to extract maximum performance ability from the car while also enjoying customary levels of Aston Martin comfort on longer journeys. High levels of power and torque are available at all engine speeds making the V12 Vantage responsive and tractable in any driving situation.

The V12 Vantage will be built at Aston Martin's global headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire joining the DBS, DB9 and V8 Vantage model lines which are built in the state-of-the-art production facility combining hi-tech manufacturing processes with traditional hand-craftsmanship. Production will be limited up to 1,000 examples over the life span of the car, making the V12 Vantage a truly exclusive driver's car.

"Whats your name?" - asks the girl on the reception

"My name is Bond, James Bond!" - answers the dangerous MI6 agent.

Everyone knows what I am talking about, everyone has watched the movies. But if you haven't, you have to watch them. In each one of the movies, one thing never changes: The agent's car! Which is Aston Martin.

I really like that car. Its in my list for my garage. IF i am lucky enough, I will own one someday. I don't know about you guys, but there is something about this car, that is incredible. And on other hand is A GIRL MAGNET?

Are we on the same mind? I don't know... You tell me! ;)

2010 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport

The new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport confronted the marque renowned for impeccable automotive solutions, aesthetics and driving dynamics with a completely new set of challenges. In response to customer demand, significant modifications have been made to the vehicle's complex structure to enable open-top driving, thereby adding a new dimension to this high-performance sports car. Incorporating a host of new and innovative safety and equipment features, it is the world's fastest and most exciting roadster. It is immediately recognizable because of its slightly higher windscreen, stylized daytime running lights, and lightweight, transparent polycarbonate roof. When the roof is closed, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport can reach 407 km/h, while speeds of up to 360 km/h are possible with the roof off. Should it rain, an innovative soft-top roof, like an umbrella, stored in the luggage compartment, can be opened up at any time. With this soft top in place, the car can travel at up to 160 km/h.

That car is just WOW. With that speed a person can just fly away. I don't know about you guys but I have LOVE for speed. I own a not-that-fast car, but I still test it on highways and streets with no cops on.

But seeing that car I can tell you, I wont survive very long if I own this car. 407 km/h? Are there roads for this car? I am amazed, what people with imagination, power and funds can do. How about you?

I would really like to test one of those babies, but they are highly NOT-affordable. With the price that big, there are very few people who can. If you are one of those people...Ho la back at me and give me a ride? or let me test it! :)

Tips for Getting a Cheap Car Loan
Purchasing a car is a necessary part of life, and getting an auto loan
is a common element of the car-shopping process. But just like shopping for a car, you can shop for your auto loan. There are several different strategies that consumers can employ to save money on their auto loans. By practicing these smart shopping tips, you can feel confident that you’re getting the best loan to fit your needs. Here are some of the most common strategies you can employ today:
1.Get competitive quotes: One of the smartest ways you can ensure that you’re receiving the most cost-effective loan is by getting competitive quotes. The Internet is a perfect tool for this, as you can comparison shop with a number of lenders all from the comfort of home. But even better, through services such as Automobile.com you can have comparison quotes created on your behalf. By receiving multiple quotes, you can assess several loan proposals at once and select the one that offers you the best advantages.
2.Keep your credit in good standing: Your credit rating could be the most important factor for getting approved for a low-interest rate auto loan. Several factors go into creating your credit score, which is also called a FICO score. You can improve your score gradually by always paying your bills on time, keeping balances on credit cards low, and keeping your credit card accounts open for several years (not opening and closing accounts haphazardly). In general, consumers with a credit score above 700receive preferable interest rates.
3.Think about term: If low monthly payments are your concern, then you may want to consider extending the term of your loan. If you select a loan with a 60-month term, you will pay less each month than a loan with a 48-month term. Of course, you will pay more in interest overall – but this may be a necessary decision to help you get approved for a loan you can afford. Conversely, if your goal is to pay off your loan fast, you may consider a 36-month loan if you can afford the higher monthly payments. In the long run, a shorter term loan will save you money overall because you spend less on interest.
4.Shop within your budget: Can you really afford leather seats or a moon roof? If these luxury items are costing you thousands of dollars you don’t have, you might want to consider a stripped-down version of the car you have in mind. Here’s why: That extra $5,000 in luxury add-ons also means $5,000 on the balance of your loan, which means you’ll be paying for that moon roof for the next five years (or longer).
5.Be a critical consumer: The Internet is making the loan-application process much easier for consumers, and it’s also putting them in control. Rather than walking into a bank and applying for a loan, you can apply for several loans at once online. This means multiple banks are competing for your business – and not the other way around. There’s nothing wrong with shopping for a loan just as you shop for a good deal on a car. Be a wise consumer, and you can find areas to save money in the long run.
